On last sunday (March, 10) happened the Dallas’s Panel on 2013 PaleyFest. Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Josh Henderson, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo and Jesse Metcalfe attended the panel answering the mediator and fans’s questions about the series and mainly about Larry Hagman and the J.R.’s death.

Brenda who plays Ann Ewing, the Emma Brown’s (Emma Bell) mother was asked about how she prepared for scenes of judgment. Brenda answered talking about Emma and the amazing scripts for these scenes.

“…and the young woman who plays my daughter, Emma Bell is such an extraordinary available actress emotionally. And all I had to do is look out and look at her and recognize the loss of not having been there to watch her grow up. And the rest just came.”

Yesterday we had a memorable episode about JR’s death (episode “JR’s Masterpiece”). A beautiful and sad episode honoring Larry Hagman, the eternal J.R. Ewing.
    Throughout the weekend and also during the showing of the episode, everyone always commented on Twitter using the tag #RememberingJR in his honor. Certainly, Larry always will be greatly missed for all old and new Dallas’s fans.

    Besides wearing gorgeous red dresses, is anyone else wondering what point the character of Elena (Jordana Brewster) actually serves lately?

    In this week’s Dallas (Season 2, Episode 5, “Trial and Error”), she maybe uttered two lines and spent the rest of the time scowling and/or holding onto to Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) as if her life depended on it. (Though, on second thought, it might actually…)

    Her brother Drew, who has emerged as this season’s Tommy Sutter, is giving her a meager plot (drilling for oil is so passé these days) to cling to, and Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) threatening her on behalf of her son just seems far-fetched.

    If Elena isn’t careful, Emma (Emma Bell) might just take her place as the Princess of Southfork. She certainly has the wardrobe for it.

Did you inspire that?
    Emma Bell: I would love to say that I did because it would make such a good story, but I don’t think so. I think her name was Emma from the start, and it was just kismet. I went in for it like any other role, and I thought, “How funny it would be if I got this.”
    Walking out, there was this big room where the writers were, and the door was open, and they had this big board. As I looked over, I saw that the name Emma was spelled all in hearts on it … and I just thought, “Oh, that’s so sweet. They really care about this character.” And from that point on, I was like, “OK, I really want this.”

    Zap2it: You have many “Dallas” scenes with your “grandmother,” played by TV veteran Judith Light. How is it to work with her?
    Emma Bell: I love Judith. She’s just so different from the character she’s playing. She’s vibrant, funny and full of heart. We’ve had a few scenes together where the assistant directors would have to keep telling us to shut up, because we would just be rolling over with laughter. We’ve bonded in a way that’s really nice.

    Zap2it: What can you say about the farewell the show is planning for J.R. Ewing, in the aftermath of Larry Hagman’s passing?
    Emma Bell: I think they want J.R. to go out with a bang, but also in a way that fans will be happy with -­- and that Larry would be happy with.
